Public guidance and tools are available without a reader subscription. The website may be supported by advertising, affiliate or referral arrangements, sponsored work and other clearly identified commercial activity.
The short answer
A commercial relationship must not decide the conclusion of a guide, hide an important drawback or turn general information into a disguised sales message. Where money or another benefit could affect how a reasonable reader interprets a page, the relationship should be made clear.
Possible sources of revenue
Advertising
Display or other paid advertising may generate revenue based on impressions, clicks or another agreed measure. Advertising must be distinguishable from editorial content.
Affiliate links and referrals
Attach Planet may receive a commission or fee after a qualifying purchase, enquiry or other action through a tracked link.
Sponsored work
A business may fund clearly labelled content or a collaboration. Payment does not remove the need for accuracy, useful context and visible limitations.
Tools or commercial services
The site may introduce paid tools, leads, partnerships or services in future. The price, provider and material conditions should be clear before a reader commits.
How editorial independence is protected
- Commercial partners do not receive an automatic right to a positive conclusion or preferred ranking.
- Material costs, exclusions, risks and limitations should remain visible.
- Comparisons should use criteria relevant to the reader’s decision, not only criteria favourable to a paying party.
- Sponsored and affiliate relationships should be labelled on the relevant page, not hidden only in a general policy.
- Readers can question a relationship through our complaints process or report an error under our corrections policy.
